Software Licensing
AGPL
GNU Affero General Public License
A strong copyleft license that extends GPL's requirements to software accessed over a network. If you modify AGPL software and let users interact with it via a web service, you must release your modified source code. This "network copyleft" provision closes the "SaaS loophole" in the GPL. Many companies treat AGPL as a non-starter for commercial use, though the actual legal risk depends on how the component is integrated.
