High-Risk AI

AI systems that the EU AI Act classifies as posing significant risk to health, safety, or fundamental rights. This includes AI used in employment decisions, credit scoring, law enforcement, education, and critical infrastructure. High-risk systems must meet requirements for data governance, documentation, human oversight, accuracy, and robustness -- with conformity assessment required before market placement. Enforcement begins August 2, 2026.
