JILLIAN BOMMARITO

CEO + CO-FOUNDER

Jillian has nearly 15 years of experience in assurance and compliance, as she began her career in public accounting. Most recently, she co-founded and successfully exited a commercial open source and consulting business in legal technology. Her work experience includes clients ranging from the Fortune 10 to idea-stage startups, and she has frequently served in outsourced executive and advisory roles. Her research and public speaking have been featured in business and academic publications. Jillian holds CPA and CIPP/US/E certifications.

Jillian hates third-party cookies, but loves baking. Her holiday cookie boxes are best described as “excessive.”

MICHAEL BOMMARITO

CTO + CO-FOUNDER

Michael has spent over 20 years in information security and open source, having released his first open source package in 2001, published his first CVE in 2002, and contributed his first Linux kernel patch in 2006. Most recently, he co-founded and successfully exited a commercial open source and consulting business in legal technology. His work experience includes the world’s largest banks, governments, law firms, asset managers, and reinsurers, His research has been published in scientific journals, law reviews, and mainstream media, including Science, Physica A, and the New York Times. He holds an M.S.E in Financial Engineering, M.A. in Political Science, and B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Michael does some of his best thinking while felling trees – a modern lumberjack of all trades.

ETHAN BOMMARITO

DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH + CO-FOUNDER

Ethan is a researcher and software engineer who specializes in information security and open source software and data. He has over five years of experience working with Linux and Python systems, and has supported multiple large-scale static analysis, penetration testing, and compliance projects. His research on PyPI has been cited and featured in multiple scientific and mainstream outlets.

Fun fact: Ethan ran a half marathon once. It was not fun.

MATTHEW HARRIS

SENIOR RISK CONSULTANT

Matt focuses on identifying and managing risk related to information security and cybersecurity. He has over 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis on implementing information management and IT governance standards. He has a B.S. in Security and Risk Analysis from Penn State University.

Outside of work Matt enjoys woodworking and hiking with his two Australian shepherds.

JACOB PULICE

BUSINESS ANALYST

Jacob is an analyst and researcher who focuses on open source, compliance, and training. He has a background in political theory and customer service, and is a graduate of Michigan State University.

Jacob is currently attempting to cook all of his meals in an Instant Pot.
